Privacy Policy
This policy explains how NeuraNames handles your personal data when you visit neuranames.com, contact us or buy a domain name from us. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
NeuraNames is a trading name of Samaruh Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15373775), registered office 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. Samaruh Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here.
Questions about privacy: [email protected].
What we collect
- When you email us (an enquiry, an offer or a purchase request): your name, email address, company name if you give it, and anything you choose to include in your message.
- When you buy a name: your name, email address and business name, collected by our payment providers and shared with us so we can complete the sale. We never see or store your card details.
- When we transfer a domain to you: the details needed to complete the transfer, such as the email address or account at your chosen registrar.
- When you visit the site: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile you.
Cookies and tracking
neuranames.com does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and loads its fonts from our own servers. That is why you do not see a cookie banner. If you click through to a Stripe or Escrow.com checkout, those providers may set their own cookies under their own policies.
Why we use your data
- To sell and transfer a domain to you (performance of a contract).
- To reply to enquiries and offers, and to keep the site secure and prevent fraud (our legitimate interests).
- To keep financial records as required by UK tax law (legal obligation).
We do not sell your data and we do not send marketing emails.
Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to run the business:
- Stripe, card payments for names under $10,000.
- Escrow.com, escrow payments for larger names.
- Cloudflare, website hosting, email forwarding and domain registration.
- Domain registrars involved in the transfer (for example Cloudflare or GoDaddy, and your own registrar).
- Our email provider, which stores the messages you send us.
- Our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
If you buy one of our names through a marketplace such as Afternic or Sedo instead, that marketplace's own privacy policy applies to your purchase.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and offers that do not lead to a sale: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Sales records: 6 years from the end of the financial year of the sale, as UK tax law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
